Speaker Jack Zhao believes that making choices can be hard, especially when you are blindly following the choice that others think is best for you. Jack shares a unique perspective, being a Chinese student studying in the US, and navigating different cultural perspectives in order to make a choice about what classes to take and ultimately how that will influence how colleges view him. In the process of vying for the attention of colleges, advisors, parents, friends… Jack pauses to ask the most obvious question… „Do I have my own attention?“. Jack Jiao is a student at Allendale Columbia School. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
