The rate at which we currently consume clothes is unsustainable for life on earth. We need to change the way we think about clothes and the way we consume clothing. The world has a finite amount of resources, and we cannot keep wasting them in the name of fashion. Kate Hall, ethical fashion blogger, speaker, Instagram inspirer, and activist, talks about this issue and how to become a conscious consumer in 8 simple steps. Because when your clothes are no longer of use to you, and you throw them away… there is no away. NOTE: The amount of clothing we through away globally every year is 80 billion, not 8 billion. Between being a social media influencer, and a sustainable living advocator, Kate Hall, or better known as Ethically Kate, is a passionate and determined entrepreneur, writer, and founder of two brands. Ethically Kate, where she creates a space that teaches people how to live more sustainably, highlighting the ease of transitioning into a sustainable lifestyle, along with encouraging brands to be proud of their products and champions them to maximum confidence. Whereas Coast Sitters is a babysitting/nannying service of over 20 employees centred in Hibiscus Coast where parents can safely leave their children when in need of extra help. Alongside creating content for brands, and her blog, Kate has been speaking at numerous events to spread her passion. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
