Society generally assumes that women and children will be the victims in cases of domestic abuse/domestic violence and that men are the perpetrators. In his talk, Andrew describes the wider struggle faced by male survivors of domestic abuse and shares his own experiences of the abuse he suffered during his first marriage: why he stayed, how he rebuilt and how he forgave. Andrew is a speaker, productivity coach, domestic abuse campaigner and happily married dad to 5 children. He serves people at all levels of society, from ex-offenders, and the long term unemployed, to sixth form college students, business leaders and entrepreneurs, helping them to get more done, but without getting busier or burnt out, so they achieve exactly what they want, but without sacrificing their most precious things. Andrew is a blogger and frequent contributor to The Good Men Project and Psych Reg, writing about his experiences of domestic abuse, parental alienation and the family courts, In his spare time, he runs a support group (Menspace) for men experiencing domestic abuse. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
