M.B.Rajani is an Associate Professor at the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bangalore. Rajani describes her serendipitous first step towards developing expertise in geospatial analysis for cultural heritage studies. She then describes the two inter-related facets of her team’s research: hunting for clues in satellite imagery and old maps to find new features of archaeological interest and preserving these fragile remnants of our past.
